LIMITED 2021 – Shincha Kunpu is a lightly steamed traditional Sencha that has a beautiful shiny tea leaf and grassy golden cup. Shincha Kunpu is also one of our Eighty-Eighth Night Shinchas. Eighty-Eighth Night Shincha refers to Shincha picked on the 88th day after the first day of spring in the traditional Japanese calendar, normally around May 2nd. The Eighty-Eighth Night – “Hachijuhachiya” in Japanese – is a special day in Japanese agriculture since it is considered about the time all the plants begin to sprout.
